Fidel Castro Sends Message to Cuban Baseball PlayersHavana, Oct 18. -The leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, sent a message to the baseball players who will take part in the Intercontinental Cup of Taipei, China, the Cuban TV news informed.

Shortly before the players headed for the Jose Marti International Airport, Dr. Antonio Castro Soto del Valle read the text, and gave each of them a volume of the book The Strategic Victory.

Fidel Castro also sent a special message to the former shortstop of the national team, German Mesa, now the assistant coach of the selection.

"It is a great honor for us that the leader of the Revolution has sent us the message, which will be transmitted to every member of the team and the Cuban people," Mesa said.

The Cuban baseball players travelled to Canada today on their way to Asia, where they will first play against the Czech team on November 23. (Prensa Latina)
