Venezuelan National Assembly Resumes Sessions

Venezuelan National Assembly Resumes SessionsCaracas, Sep 29. -After a parliamentary recess, the Venezuelan National Assembly resumed its sessions on Tuesday with an intensive agenda, according to its vice president, Dario Vivas.

According to the socialist lawmaker, the disarmament law, which aims to combat the lack of safety, will be fully discussed at the assembly.

"That will be one of the priorities," Vivas told Prensa Latina.

The deputies will also start analyzing the government's proposal for the 2011 Budget Law.

Chavez considers that in spite of the fact that the opposition will hold 65 of the National Assembly's 165 seats, it cannot prevent the advance of the process of change that began in 1999.

Some leaders of the opposition assured that their presence in the legislative power would help block government policies. (Prensa Latina)
