Telephone Center in Santa Cruz del Sur to be improvedSanta Cruz del Sur, Sep 16. –The Telephone Center from Santa Cruz del Sur, belonging to the Cuban Telecommunications Eenterprise ( ETECSA), is working to improve the internal control and the operations of the communications in the tewrritory.

ETECSA counts on 1996 services already installed and more than 1300 of the TFA model ( Fixed Alternative telephones), which allowes the municipality tohave a telephone density of 8.8 every 100 inhabitants, this is even higher to the province average.

The coding edge technlogies in Santa Cruz make communications get to more than 25 rural communities. Besides, they count on 96 ports for the data transmission, and 29 out of them are occupied, which eases communication in southern camaguey.

The ETECSA staff is made up of 20 workers, installed the optic fiber from Santa Cruz to Camaguey after  Paloma Hurricane, including the small towns of Haití, Cándido and La Jagua, wth more than 160 kilometers traveled and with a cost exceeding 1, 5 million dollars.
