Cuban Vice President Visits ChinaBeijing, Aug 24. -Cuban Vice President and Army Corps Gen. Abelardo Colome Ibarra began an official visit to the People's Republic of China on Tuesday on the invitation of the government.

Colome Ibarra is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba's Central Committee and minister of the Interior.

After his arrival, Colome Ibarra expressed satisfaction at his visit, which, he said, would strengthen the excellent ties of friendship that join the two peoples, governments and parties.

During his visit, in the framework of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China, on September 28, 1960, the Cuban official will meet with Chinese ministers and other leaders, and tour several cities.

The vice president's visit to China, to conclude on September 2, is part of a tour that also included a visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in which the Cuban delegation also fulfilled important official responsibilities. (Prensa Latina)
